Hair types and products that may help
Get to know yourself better, your skin type, face shape or your scalp. It is essential to make the most of your features and get advantage of your beauty full potential. Regarding hair, identify the type of hair you have will help us know what kind of products should be applied for their care and make the right choice. These are the four hair types from which professional salon brands create their products:
When we mean curly we tend to think about thick it is just the other way: very soft and fine. Curly hair is not smooth, the cuticle is not flat which makes it difficult to shine. When wet it looks straight but when dry it curls again. Humidity causes fluffy hair. If your hair is curly but healthy it will be shiny, look soft and with smooth curls. If damaged will look dull, dry and curls not very well defined.
This hair type tends to be thick. You can see the shape of an ‘S’ on the hair. It sticks to the scalp, even if cut it by layers. There are three types:
Fine and thin texture: Can be easily straightened or curled.
Medium: Tends to “embrace” the head. Easy to become fluffy.
Course: It is more difficult to comb and gets frizzy easily.
Strong and bright hair, does not accept curls. This type of hair tends to be oily, more than dry. The advantage is that the cuticle contains multiple layers making it quite resistant to damage. Can be damaged if too many perms or excessive dyes.
There are three types:
Fine and thin: soft and shiny.
Medium texture: you can do what you want with this type of hair.
Course: The most resistant to curls.
Afro hair is curly and fragile. This type of hair does not shine but looks silky. Seems to be hard, if you have this type of hair you will know that it is very fragile. It’s the kind of hair with less cuticle layers and hard to grow. Every time you comb it, it breaks. If you use it in braids and do not comb it, it can grow.
There are two types of Afro hair:
Shaped ‘S’: As curly hair shaped ‘S’ only it is much more curly. Keep moisture better.
Shaped ‘Z’: less defined curl, highly textured.
