Hydration of skin in autumn
Autumn is a beautiful season. The nights are cosier, the leaves on the trees turn from green to golden brown and, of course, it is pumpkin season. On a personal level however, the colder weather can present various challenges, not in the least those related to skin care and body care.
Autumn winds dry out the skin, while indoor heating becomes necessary, causing further sensitivity and hydration issues. It is a time when specialist skin care is needed, and we at Perfume’s Club aim to cater to this need by providing you with only the best body care brands, to keep you looking and feeling at your best.
Biotherm with its specialist Life Plankton formula, perfect for skin hydration, is an everyday favourite of ours during the autumn season. Their moisturising products lock water into your skin for hours on end, so that your face and body look and feel more soft and radiant. Aquasource is a favourite day gel for women, while the men’s range is wonderful for skin that also has to experience the effects of rougher treatments such as shaving.
Elizabeth Arden is another one of our favourites. Even though the weather is now more cold and grey, UV rays, which cause ageing, still penetrate through the clouds. This is the thinking behind their Eight Hour cream with SPF15.
Moreover, Elizabeth Arden has specialist moisturisers for the delicate lip and eye areas. The Eight Hour lip balm can be used on bare lips at any time with the sole purpose of hydration, while the Lip-Fix Cream is a favourite with regular lipstick wearers. Not only does the Lip-Fix cream soften and hydrate lips both day and night, but worn under lipstick, it prevents smudging and bleeding. As for the paper-thin skin under the eyes, most face creams are far too heavy for this area, whereas Elizabeth Arden’s eye treatments rejuvenate and tighten without any heaviness or clogging.
Last but not least, Clarins is another of our favourite everyday brands. Like Biotherm, they feature a specialist men’s body care range, including a shaving oil and super hydrating balm, as well as a body moisture spray containing oriental herbs that tone and soften without any greasiness.
What we love most about Clarins is their firm and clear focus on anti-ageing and skin regenerating body products. Our hands are exposed to so many environments and are most prone to ageing, and to protect them from this, Clarins has formulated a specialist anti-ageing hand cream, as well as a foot cream for top-to-toe care. Clarins’ night and day face and body creams and serums also have noticeable anti-ageing properties.
These are not the only skin care-related lines available on our website. Chanel is one of our favourite high end brands, offering face and eye creams. Whatever you choose, the most important thing to remember is that autumn requires a switch to heavier moisturisers for the face and body, and that the items discussed here are sure to give you the necessary protection.
