Makeup mistakes and their solutions (I)
Your first major inroad into the makeup world? Entertaining and marvellous but may be a little complicated for beginners. Makeup should be the reflect of personal taste for each woman to enhance her natural beauty, not to hide it. So you must know it well.
Learning how to apply makeup can be achieved with trial and error methods. Today, we would like to show you how to avoid making those mistakes. If you are new to makeup or you don’t wish to appear amateur, do not miss the following tricks to avoid those errors:
1. Overlook the skin
Many amateur enthusiasts focus on the makeup, forgetting that the basis for a good makeup starts with a good skin. Treat blemishes, clean and hydrate your skin regularly using good quality cosmetics. Remember that the result from a professional makeup finish is only possible to obtain with a healthy skin.
2. Careful about color
When you first start using makeup, there’s always a tendency to abuse in the use of blush or sun powders. The result: a non-natural look. Don’t choke off: you’d better get too little than too much color. Apply blush only on the cheeks. Regarding bronzing powders, apply just a little on your cheeks, forehead, chin and neck to match. Adjust the quantity to be applied to the time of year you are in: it would not be logical to look tanned in January…
3. Use the corrector as a foundation.
It may be that there are too many imperfections to be corrected on our face but excessive use of a concealer is a typical amateur error. Use it moderately. Excess may result in a very pale skin, stiff and thick look. Use other makeup tools to substitute this product as the makeup foundation itself or loose powder.
4. Scary Smokey Eyes
Eye makeup is a very complicated issue to learn. Many mistakes are made. Smokey eyes are very elegant and extremely sexy if they are well finished. There’s a fine line between sexy smokey eyes and a Halloween makeup. You can start practising this look with more discreet eye shades which are easy to work with (brown, coral, …) because to these you can add more color if needed instead of applying darker shades at first.
These are some of the multiple makeup mistakes beginners make. In the next post, we’ll show you more.
