Three Hairstyles For the Holidays
It’s that time of year again: the tree goes up, the tinsel comes out we spend a lovely day opening presents and gorging on roast dinners with our family.
When it comes to prepping and preening yourself for Christmas day, it’s nice to get a little dressed up to make it extra special. While choosing that perfect Christmas outfit is a pretty straightforward task, creating the right hairstyle may be a little trickier. Luckily, we provide you with three fun and simple hairstyles and a product recommendation or two so that you can have beautiful hair over the holidays.
High Holiday Bun
This pretty high bun is perfect if you are having a formal get together, as it suits a range of face types, plus it will ensure that your hair is out of your face as you are eating dinner! To create it, you will need smoothing serum, our recommendation is for TIGI Bead Head After Party (smells great and gets rid of those flyaways), a brush, bobby pins, hairspray, hairband and a bun donut. Simply apply some of the smoothing serum to the hair, then scrape all the hair back into a high ponytail and secure it with a headband. Place the bun donut over the ponytail, and then pull the hair around it to make sure it is covered. Pin the end of the hair underneath with several bobby pins to secure it in place. Finish with a light spray of hairspray.
Another classic is some simple Christmas curls. To successfully create this style you will need curling tongs, hair clips, a comb and a high-quality hairspray (try Wella hairsprays as they hold the hair like nothing else). Make sure that the hair is tangle free by brushing it and applying a smoothing serum if necessary. Divide the hair so that you can hold a small inch section in your hands, use a clip or a hair band to keep the other hair out of the way. Turn on the hair curling wand and then carefully curl the chosen section of hair. Repeat with all the other sections until you have curled your entire head of hair. Spray with a good hairspray to set the style.
Poker Straight Perfection
Last up is a poker straight hairstyle. You really can’t go wrong with long flowing locks, providing that you properly set and finish the hair. You will need a brush, hair straighteners, hair thermal protection as well as a straight and sleek serum such as Bamboo Shine Silk brilliance cream. Again, divide your hair into sections, then apply a small amount of the thermal protection spray to it. Allow the straighteners to heat up, and then use them to straighten the section of hair. Repeat until all the hair is super straight, and finish with some of the sleek finishing cream. You can make this hairstyle more festive by adding a sparkly Christmas-themed hair pin or headband.
